A privacy berm on a commercial or industrial site is usually there for a reason: a township screening condition, a buffer requirement, or a promise made to the neighbors. That means someone is going to measure it.
We start with the approved plan and build to it: height, slope and length. The berm goes up in compacted lifts so it holds its shape instead of slumping after the first heavy rain. When the site has surplus fill, we use it, which saves the client from importing material they do not need.
Once it is shaped, we seed and stabilize the slopes so they establish quickly. And when there are homes along the property line, we keep the neighbors informed. A quick conversation goes a long way.
It is not complicated work, but it has to be done carefully. That is the kind of job our family has been doing for decades.
